- Biometric-Based Aadhaar Authentication: Applicants may be selected for biometric verification and document authentication based on risk parameters under Rule 8 of CGST Rules, 2017.
- Implementation Date: The feature was rolled out in Maharashtra and Lakshadweep on 8th February 2025.
- Verification Process: After submitting GST REG-01, applicants will receive an email with either:
- OTP-based Aadhaar Authentication OR
- A link to book an appointment at a GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK) for biometric authentication and document verification.
- Appointment Requirement: If biometric verification is needed, the applicant must book an appointment and visit the assigned GSK with:
- Appointment confirmation email (hard/soft copy)
- Jurisdiction details (from the intimation email)
- Original Aadhaar & PAN card
- Original documents uploaded with the application
- Processing Timeline: Appointment must be scheduled within the permissible period mentioned in the email. ARNs will be generated after successful biometric authentication and document verification.
