This Trade Notice refers to Notification No. 66 (06.03.2024) and Notification No. 78 (16.03.2024), stating that the import of Premium Frozen Duck Meat (ITC HS Code 0207 4200 & 0207 4500) is ‘restricted’ and allowed only for supply to 3-Star and above Operational Hotels. Other imports under these codes remain ‘free’.
Key Guidelines:
🔹 Direct Imports by Hotels:
- Hotels rated 3-Star and above (as notified by the Ministry of Tourism) can import directly without an Import Authorization.
🔹 Import by Distributors/Aggregators/Suppliers:
- Must obtain Import Authorization from DGFT.
- Must submit an undertaking confirming that the imported product will be supplied only to 3-Star and above hotels and provide a list of potential eligible establishments.
- Must maintain records of all supplies made to these hotels.
- For future imports, must submit GST invoices as proof of supply to 3-Star and above hotels.
🔹 Compliance & Verification:
- Imports will be subject to verification by authorities.
- Non-compliance may result in legal action as per applicable laws.
