
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) has amended Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.) under Section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962. This amendment modifies valuation rules for imported goods. The changes take effect from 15th February 2025. The original notification, issued on 3rd August 2001, set customs valuation methods. It was last amended on 31st January 2025. The amendment ensures updated valuation aligns with current trade requirements. The objective is to maintain fair and transparent customs assessments. The revised rules aim to enhance compliance and efficiency.
