Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has announced key amendments to ANF-2N, the application form for obtaining export authorization for restricted items — specifically for Pharma Grade Sugar.

Policy Amendment Details

In exercise of powers under Paragraphs 1.03 and 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), 2023, the DGFT has made the following modifications to the ANF-2N form:

  1. Optional Shipment and Buyer Details
  • The columns related to ‘Shipment Details’ and ‘Foreign Buyer / Consignee Details’ are now made optional instead of mandatory.
  • Exporters can now fill these fields with generic entries such as “any buyer” and “any port of discharge” during the initial application stage.
  1. Flexibility to Amend Buyer Information
  • Exporters are permitted to update the buyer-wise details once the actual export order is received and prior to the physical export.
📌 Effect of the Public Notice

This amendment is a significant procedural relaxation for exporters of Pharma Grade Sugar. It provides greater ease in filing applications without being bound to fixed buyer or shipment details at the initial stage. This flexibility is especially useful for exporters dealing with variable or fast-moving orders.
