The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the authority granted by Paragraph 1.03 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, has announced the fixation of three new Standard Input Output Norms (SIONs). These norms—bearing serial numbers A-3687, A-3688, and A-3689—are introduced with immediate effect.

These SIONs pertain to products in the Chemical & Allied Product Group, and will facilitate exporters in availing duty-free import benefits under the Advance Authorisation Scheme by defining input-output norms for specific export products.

What is SION?

Standard Input Output Norms (SION) specify the quantity of inputs required to produce a unit of export product. These norms help streamline the Advance Authorisation Scheme, ensuring fair and consistent treatment for exporters.
