GST registration applicants opting for Aadhaar authentication undergo verification via OTP or Biometric Authentication at a designated GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK). To streamline the process, GSTN has introduced a Home State Biometric Authentication Facility for certain Promoters/Directors, allowing them to complete authentication at any GSK within their home state instead of their jurisdictional GSK.
Eligibility for Home State Biometric Authentication
ย This facility applies to individuals listed in the Promoter/Partner tab of the following business types:
- Public Limited Company
- Private Limited Company
- Unlimited Company
- Foreign Company
Key Points to Note:ย
- Intimation & Selection: Eligible Promoters/Directors will receive an intimation email with a GSK selection option in their home state.
- One-Time Selection: The chosen GSK cannot be changed later. Applicants must select carefully.
- State Availability: Currently available in 33 States/UTs; soon to be extended to Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Sikkim.
- Slot Booking & Confirmation: After selecting a GSK, a confirmation email with a slot booking link will be sent.
- Authentication Process: Photo capture and biometric authentication will be completed at the selected GSK.
- Previously Completed Authentication: No need to repeat the process if already completed.
- Restriction for PAS: If the Promoter/Director is also the Primary Authorized Signatory (PAS), the home-state GSK option will not be available. The PAS must visit their jurisdictional GSK.
- Recommended Process Order: Promoters/Directors should complete biometric authentication before the PAS visits the GSK.
- Optional Facility: Promoters/Directors may still visit their jurisdictional GSK if preferred.
