- Amendment to Rule 8 of CGST Rules, 2017: Applicants may be identified for Biometric-based Aadhaar Authentication and document verification based on risk parameters.
- Implementation: The functionality, developed by GSTN, was rolled out in Uttar Pradesh on 15th March 2025.
- Authentication Process:
- Applicants receive an e-mail link for either:
(a) OTP-based Aadhaar Authentication (continue with the existing process) or
(b) Appointment booking for biometric verification at a GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK). - Appointment booking for biometric verification in Uttar Pradesh starts from 18th March 2025.
- Applicants receive an e-mail link for either:
- Documents Required for GSK Visit:
- Appointment confirmation e-mail (hard/soft copy).
- Jurisdiction details from the intimation e-mail.
- Original Aadhaar & PAN Card and uploaded documents.
- Verification & ARN Generation:
- Biometric authentication and document verification are conducted at the GSK.
- ARN is generated only after successful verification.
