
The Central Government has issued a fresh notification under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, revising the Minimum Export Price (MEP) for Natural Honey.
This amendment modifies the earlier Notification No. 45/2024-25 dated 30th December 2024, and comes into effect immediately.

Effect of the Notification
- The Minimum Export Price (MEP) for Natural Honey has been reduced from USD 2000/MT to USD 1400/MT.
- This change is effective immediately and will remain in force till 31st December 2025.
- Exporters of Natural Honey will now have increased pricing flexibility in global markets, potentially enhancing competitiveness and boosting shipments.
Conclusion
- The downward revision of MEP is expected to encourage exports of Natural Honey, making Indian honey more affordable and competitive in the international market. At the same time, it balances domestic producer interests with global trade opportunities.
- Exporters dealing in HS Code 04090000 should realign their trade contracts and pricing strategies in accordance with this revised policy.
