Tariff Values Fixed for Edible Oils, Brass Scrap, Areca Nut, Gold & Silver.

The CBIC has notified revised tariff values for key imported goods, including edible oils, brass scrap, gold, silver, and areca nuts. These changes are made through substitution of TABLE-1, TABLE-2, and TABLE-3 under the principal notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.).

The revised values are crucial for determining customs duty and are used by importers, customs brokers, and assessment officers to ensure proper valuation.

Note:

“Gold findings” include small components like clasps, hooks, or screws used in jewellery.
Silver/gold coins and medallions are excluded from certain valuation cases, particularly when imported via courier, post, or baggage.

📌 Summary of Impact

Edible oil values have increased slightly across all categories.
Gold and silver rates remain under close watch due to global volatility.
Brass scrap valuation updated in line with international scrap metal prices.
Areca nut tariff value remains unchanged, maintaining the current duty structure.

Important Compliance Note:

Importers and customs brokers should ensure that all Bill of Entry declarations from 01st August 2025 reflect the updated tariff values to avoid discrepancies and delays in assessment
