The Central Government has announced the extension of the Minimum Import Price (MIP) on Soda Ash (Disodium Carbonate) imports, continuing its policy to regulate the import of this key industrial chemical and protect the domestic market from underpriced foreign supplies.
Legal Framework
The extension has been notified through S.O. (E), issued under the authority of:
Section 3 & Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and
Paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023,
in continuation of Notification No. 46/2024-25 dated 30.12.2024.
What’s Extended?
The MIP condition applies to the following three ITC (HS) codes under Chapter 28 of the ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule-I (Import Policy):

📌 Effect of the Notification:
The Minimum Import Price (MIP) on Disodium Carbonate (Soda Ash) will remain at ₹20,108 per metric tonne.
This condition is now extended from 01st July 2025 to 31st December 2025.
Import of Soda Ash below this price will not be permitted during this period.
